Map of Cambodia empire or Khmer empire. This map contain the original territorial size of Cambodia’s ancestral land before Thai and Vietnam invasion. Cambodia used to share borders with Burma(Myanmar), China, Champa(present-day central Vietnam), and the state of Dai Viet( present-day Vietnam). The empire stretched as far south bordered Malaysia. Endless aggressive invasion by Thai and Dai Viet(Vietnam), Cambodia empire declined, Thailand became a country around year 1300. The invasion still continue to today, as you can see Cambodia on the map, very tiny country. Barely seen or heard by the world for so many years.

After tragic wars and invasions, Cambodia is open for touring. Millions of tourists from all over the world rush to visit Cambodia every year to see the greatest and one of the ancient 7 wonders of the world, Angkorwat. People are starting to understand Cambodian history and culture. Many visitors came and left Cambodia with admiration. Foreigners, professionals, scholars and anthropologists have proved that “Cambodia was the center of ancient civilization in the world.”
To better prove, there are so many traces of evidence of the Khmer empire written on ancient stones and ruins where you can find throughout Cambodia, present-day Thailand, Laos, present-day south Vietnam. There are also still huge population of Cambodian residing in Thailand, especially in the eastern part, and there are approximately 8 million Cambodian living in “south Vietnam.” They are natives to these land. The empire also have left the flavor of Khmer food and language throughout these countries.
